Covers to Keep You Warm

released December 31, 2021

I’ve always loved singing covers! before I began writing my own songs, I would stay up late sitting in my bed learning other peoples songs on my baritone uke. I decided to revisit my favorites for this EP. Re-imagining each song with a different creative team full of dear, dear friends has gifted me the warmest, most joyful december I can recall.

“Moon Love” recorded by Mat Larimer and features Sam Mendoza on guitar and vocals
”Crazy” was recorded by Mel Guérison
”I Get Along Without You Very Well (Except Sometimes)” was produced by Elliot Cleverdon
”Auld Lang Syne” was recorded by Harlan Silverman, and features Jacob Miller on vocals and guitar, Andrew Jones on bass, and a choir (fake party) of many sweet friends
Covers to Keep You Warm was mastered by Harlan Silverman

Saint Helens

released December 3rd, 2021

Music and lyrics: John Isaac DaveyI had such a big majorly healing experience interviewing with @honestjamspodcast they gave me a prompt and we all wrote songs to share around the word “mother”. mine turned into a song about my great grandmother, my nana, helen. she is where the playful loving and warm parts of me come from. it took writing this song to acknowledge that, and through this process I finally feel able to breathe and rest as myself.

recorded by Alexis Mahler
mixed by Mel Guérison

Cruel to be Kind (John Davey cover)

released October 15, 2021

I've admired JOHN DAVEY's songwriting since the day I met him six years ago. I learned "Cruel to be Kind" on my bari uki before I ever even thought about doing the cello thing. When he reached out and asked me to make a proper cover of this tune, my heart swelled. A true and dear honor to share this with you.

mixed by Clara Baker at The Rye Room in Portland, OR
mastered by Steffen Prentiss Yazvac (Minneapolis, MN)

Away

Released October 4th, 2020

I wrote these songs over a year of intense grief, restlessness, and growth.

“Away” is about loss and longing for sweeter days. A loving thought that I often return to is that my process is my own and must be honored. If you move through your experiences in the ways others expect you to. In these songs, I tried to explore those feelings of coming away from myself and letting go of the things that need to fall away. “Away” is meant for listeners to hold close.

The recording process was handled with such care and intention by Mel Guérison and the rest of this ensemble of accomplished, talented women. Women who carry unmatched artistic brilliance and hearts kind enough to hold me through the process.

produced, mixed, and mastered by Mel Guérison

instrumental contributions from Mel Guérison (piano, violin) Lily Breshears (harp), Abbey Blackwell (upright bass), Hanna Haas (vocals), Sonja Prychitko (violin on “springtime”)

Lauren Kamp (album photo) and Kendra Ferguson (album art)
